The Maori Law/ NZ Government

Land Law. Currently, about five percent of the land in New Zealand is Maori land. The Maori Land Court, which was established by the Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993 The Māori Land Act, has the authority to hear cases relating to the ownership, administration, and transfer of ownership of Maori land.

Prior to European settlement, the individual Māori tribes of New Zealand had well-established governance arrangements, social structures, and systems of accepted norms and customs, generally referred to as tikanga Māori.  This included rules relating to trade and land rights, family relationships, protection of the environment, and conflict resolution.  According to a prominent Maori professor, tikanga Maori is the Maori equivalent of English law. The Maori history/ NZ Government

I choose the Maori law government because I wanted to learn more about the maori nz government and if it's negative or positive. So I researched stuff about the Nz Maori government and what I found out was I seen some stuff and i clicked onto the research and I found out how the government works. This is some stuff i found out about the government and about the treaty of waitangi and plenty more different things.

Maori are tangata whenua — people of the land. They came to Aotearoa from Polynesia in the 13th century and created a new language and culture. How the treaty of waitangi works, The Treaty is New Zealand’s founding document made between the British Crown and about 540 Māori rangatira chiefs. The original Treaty documents are at He Tohu at the National Library in Wellington. You can view the Treaty any time during opening hours. If you're a large group or want a guide, you can book a free guided tour. In the later 20th century the Waitangi Tribunal was set up to investigate breaches of the treaty, and Māori headed a number of government agencies concerned with Māori.

Coraline notes Film study

Hands look like needles, Seen the creepy hands 4x

Having the fingers like needles can sue the eyes on easier

The Needle hands that is sewing the doll is the other mums hands

The music is sounding  a bit like childlike music that suits the movie and the doll

The extreme close up shot & the extreme long shot photo is being taken so you can see the house and the sky.

The extreme close up shot & the extreme long shot, & The high angle shot, Pov shot , over the shoulder shot, Another nice over the shoulder shot, A dutch tilt shot of coraline, Another high angle Pov shot, A nice zoom in shot, another close out fade out x2

Coraline is the only yellow dole colour in the scene, shes the only one wearing yellow. The parents look dole and grey and tired, Suddenly when she opens the door she sees the colourful tunnel and she goes into the other mother and dads house. the real house she lives in is really boring and dark and grey, the tunnel she entered into has the lights on and there is a lot of colour. Button eyes on the mother, The dads happy and smiling and not boring, his hair is tidy and his glasses are tidy and his outfit is clean and bright, and hes dressed to look happy and bright. The lightning of the thunder that struck is the mothers needle hands that she used. Coralines bedroom is lighten up and clean & tidy and the toys & tedys she have are talking and alive & have button eyes. colour getting way darker

The mum and dad don't really get on well with coraline in the movie.

3D design process

this term in CMM1 we have been  working on a 3D design of like a id tag or a Maori Tiki design and seeing what it comes out like.

We used a 3D printer to make our design and we had to see what it had looked like after we got use to getting all the settings ready to make the 3D design.

When I first started to try get my 3D design out of the 3D printer i thought it was gonna be really easy, But it has become really hard for us to make these 3D designs so far.

My 3D Design came out grey when i wanted it a different colour but for next time i need to make sure i try change the colour of the 3D design.

the measurements? 50cm long, Wide length

Changes i did not have to make changes but if i wanted to make some changes on my 3D design I just need to improve on the design and make sure the writing comes out fine and not all clingy and ugly.

Here are my photos of my final product design

Have you though what Large and Small numbers look like

Have you thought what Large and Small numbers look like, if you haven't you get to read some interesting stuff about our learning in 9ay with Ian Rees. From last term to this term 9ay has been learning about Big numbers and Small numbers, and we learnt how to fly around in a airbus.

The start of term 1 9ay has started to learn a lot about Fractions and Calculations and more. Here is the big questions, How many grains of sand on all the beaches in the world? glad you asked there is 500 Quadrillion Grains of sand in the whole world. If you want a small number stay right here! How small is a sand fly? only 3 mm long. I have more big and small numbers, How many litres of water in the ocean. Roughly 1.260,000,000,000,000,000,000. So far this is only quarter of the work we have been doing, if you wanna know how to fly around the universe in a airbus I have the answers. We had to pick a planet for our flying around in a airbus and i picked Neptune. Distance to Neptune 4.3 x 10^9. Hours 105120, days 4380. My airbus speed - 925, km 0.00464864864. That's all i have found out about my airbus speed and my distance to Neptune.

What we have started to do this term was, we started to learn about different fractions and percentages and if the golf ball hits 130 what would the answer be. We had to calculate some numbers to try and get the answer for the question. We had to work out some hard percentages this term for the golf question we had to use our calculator too get the percentage for the answer. we had to find out percentages for how far they hit and the 1st percentage was 175m 2nd hit was 130m, 3rd hit was 40m, 4th hit was 5m.  The percentages we found out for the golf question was, question 1 was the golfer Hit 50% of the goal - because half of 350  is 175 and since he hit 175 that means he hit 50% of the goal. 2nd hit the golfer hit 34%. 3rd hit was 14.5%. 4th hit was 1.5%. That was all I found out about the golf question and the percentages. That's so far what we have done in these 2 terms, I really hope to do some more great maths and learn more.

Science

Aim: To observe contraction in gases
Hypothesis: I think what was gonna happen was the can would start bubbling up and heating up and when it got to hot it would explode.
Method: Fill ice cream container with cold water. Place 50mL of water in the can. Set up Bunsen burner + mat heat proof mat, tripod, and gauze mat.
Other method
1. Set up a Bunsen burner underneath a tripod and a gauze mat.
2. Pour approximately 50-60 mL of water into your can. It should be no more than 1/4 full.
3. Heat the can of water until steam is seen escaping from the top.
Carefully grip the can with the scissor tongs. Ensure you have a firm hold of the can before lifting it off the gauze mat.
4. Quickly, but very carefully, invent the can as you plunge it into a container of water.
Observation: I seen that it starts to bubble up, because its cause we are heating the can and the water up. and when we heat it up it expands, and also the bubbles in the can stops moving and the can contacts because when it goes into cold water it stops moving and cools down.

Explanation: Vibrates more which makes the water boil.
