Science

Aim: To observe contraction in gases
Hypothesis: I think what was gonna happen was the can would start bubbling up and heating up and when it got to hot it would explode.
Method: Fill ice cream container with cold water. Place 50mL of water in the can. Set up Bunsen burner + mat heat proof mat, tripod, and gauze mat.
Other method
1. Set up a Bunsen burner underneath a tripod and a gauze mat.
2. Pour approximately 50-60 mL of water into your can. It should be no more than 1/4 full.
3. Heat the can of water until steam is seen escaping from the top.
Carefully grip the can with the scissor tongs. Ensure you have a firm hold of the can before lifting it off the gauze mat.
4. Quickly, but very carefully, invent the can as you plunge it into a container of water.
Observation: I seen that it starts to bubble up, because its cause we are heating the can and the water up. and when we heat it up it expands, and also the bubbles in the can stops moving and the can contacts because when it goes into cold water it stops moving and cools down.

Explanation: Vibrates more which makes the water boil.
